Influenced by the intimacy of Leonard Cohen and the intensity of Bob Dylan, WHYBE guarantees an unique, emotional and sometimes even frightening experience that his audience will not forget quickly. WHYBE avoids glorification and tries to expose the flipsides of glorified themes like love. With his hollow eyes, virtuoso voice and gloomy appearance he knows how to bring his spectators to another dimension. WHYBE wants you to acknowledge the dark, unmentioned underlayer of this life. Nowadays everything is focused on short, quick happiness. In contrast, he wants to show you the beauty of the suffering, the melancholy and the bleak simplicity via his songs. For WHYBE it all began when he won the contest Kunstbende Limburg at 18 years old. In that same year he wrote, recorded and co-produced his first EP called 'WHYBE' with producer Elwin de Vries. In 2019 he went to France with his electric guitar player, which resulted in another EP: 'Under The Truth'. The songs for this EP were written in solitude, in a village near the Mont Ventoux. During this period WHYBE started to connect with his unique, personal sound. In that same year he also joined the Dutch touring festival Popronde; this gave him further experience as an artist on stage. Other gigs worth mentioning were: Festival Bruis, Maifeld Derby and Pinguin Showcases during ESNS. Next to that he has released several singles in which he further explored his capabilities.
